1962 KJR Radio Seattle, Washington Top 50 Survey

The June 18, 1962 Fabulous Fifty KJR 950 Seattle, Washington survey has Seattle radio legand Pat O'Day pictured on the front. Inside we find the top 50 chart with "Sealed With A Kiss" by Brian Hyland as the number one song of the week. While at number one in Seattle, "Sealed With A Kiss" only reached number 3 on the Billboard charts. At number 2 we find Joanie Sommers with "Johnny Get Angry," her only top 40 song. If that voice sounds familiar, Joanie sang jingles for Pepsi-Cola and is often referred to as "The Pepsi Girl." We find Freddy Cannon at number 5 with "Palisades Park" written by Chuck Barris ("The Gong Show"). Shelley Fabares is at number 15 with her follow up to her "Johnny Angel" number one song, "Johnny Loves Me." At number 36 we find "Speedy Gonzales" by Pat Boone - Pat's last top 40 charted song. Mel Blanc is featured as "Speedy." Rounding out the top 50 we find "(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance" by Gene Pitney. The song was recorded for, but not included in the movie starring John Wayne.
